The Council of Ministers accepted the proposal of the Minister for Sport Andrea Abodi and approved the provision which extends the deadline to 30 June 2025 sporting bond for memberships signed before the entry into force of the reform, i.e. 1 July 2023. The extension will guarantee a gradual, but definitive, entry into force of the new regulation, aimed at balancing the interests of athletes with those of sports associations and clubs , amateur and professional.
The reform provides for an annual obligation with automatic renewal but the athlete’s right of withdrawal
The restriction has the function of guaranteeing stability to the clubs and structuring investments and sporting commitments in relation to a certain number of members, but in the past it has often penalized amateur athletes. Now the reform provides for them an annual duration with automatic renewal and with the athlete’s right of withdrawal, which can be activated at any time, tempered by a technical training bonus for the company. Starting next week, Abodi will invite interested parties to a series of hearings with the technical working group to address and structurally resolve the issues relating to the topic encountered in recent months.
Gravina: “Fundamental provision that protects nurseries”
“The protection of nurseries is one of the priorities of Figc because they represent a fundamental asset for the development of the entire Italian football movement”, commented the number one of Italian football, Gabriele Gravina, who thanked the minister and the government for accepting his appeal for an extension. “A fundamental provision that allows companies that believe in youth sectors the time necessary to reorganize their work with a view to valorising young people”.
