Spurs Unveil New Recruits and Discuss Future with Victor Wembanyama

By Mathieu S. | NBA Editor

Spurs presented two new recruits to the press this Saturday, the opportunity for them to discuss the future association with Victor Wembanyama. And it is fair to say that the fascination is real.

After a rather sad season at the bottom of the Western Conference, the Spurs will arrive in a few months on the NBA floor with the firm intention of winning. The franchise is not (yet) aiming for the championship obviously, but the managers want an improvement in accounting, under the leadership of Victor Wembanyama.

Back for a sophomore campaign, the Frenchman intends to win everything, including a DPOY title and a place in the All-Star Game. But he will need help, which is why fans are delighted with the draft choice, with the arrival of young Stephon Castle and winger Harrison Ingram. Both were presented to the press this Saturday.

Wembanyama continues to fascinate at Spurs

Lots of questions obviously, especially about the first season to come in San Antonio. Castle hopes to shine and wanted to reassure himself about his shot, he who feels capable of becoming a real threat at long distance. He is also looking forward to teaming up with Wemby, having even dreamed of this opportunity.

Stephon Castle said that at UConn, he sometimes dreamed about what it would be like to team up with Wemby. “Of course it floats around in your mind. But it doesn’t feel real until it becomes a reality.”

Castle : “Victor is really a big target on the floor. It was fun throwing lobs to DC (Donovan Clingan), so I can only imagine what it’s going to be like now. »

Another Spurs recruit, very active on the floor, Harrison Ingram had some nice comments for Wembanyama:

Harrison Ingram : “To play with a guy like Wemby, knowing he’s the next GOAT, I don’t know. He is supposed to be one of the best players. It will be fun to play with someone 2m24 who can block everything in the paint. »

The two new Spurs recruits are already looking forward to playing with Victor Wembanyama, even if they will not meet the Frenchman on the court for several months following the Olympics. But there is total confidence in Texas.
