Success at the 15th Edition of the Dreux National Badminton Tournament

More than 350 players from Centre-Val de Loire and neighboring regions took part in the 15th edition of the Dreux national tournament this weekend. Among them some of the best French people, too strong competition for the Eurelians in the best series.

Jean Simonet, president of the Badminton Club de la Région Drouaise (BCRD), and his team of around twenty volunteers contributed to the success of this event which celebrated its fifteenth edition. Exactly 354 players used the twelve courts, five in the gymnasium and seven in the sports hall, where the playing mats were installed.

In the first series, Breton Louka Le Coq (Flume Ille Bad), French n°27, won a singles table including four other players from the national Top 50. Among the women, the Francilienne Alicia Huynh (French n°37) also held her place with a success in the final against Mahaut Gombrowicz (ACBB, n°86).

To find the first Euréliens on the podiums, you have to look in the 2nd series. Senonchois Lucas Samson, also winner of the singles in series 4, won silver in the men’s doubles with Florentin Dumont (Salbris). Associated with Elsa Fernandez (CLT Orléans), Lucéen Félix Morteau won bronze in mixed doubles. As for the 3rd series, Lou Jumentier (Lucé) won gold in the company of Léna Boileau (Tours) by beating Maintenonnaises Emilie Cellier and Camille Jeaudet in the women’s doubles final. Also note the bronze for Mathis Alix Maire (Mainvilliers) in mixed with Laurine Laude (SMOC).

In the 4th series, in addition to Lucas Samson, Céline Alpettaz (Mainvilliers) and the Vallée d’Avre duo Léa Dabremont – Laura Grandière also won, like Théo Rousseau (Mainvilliers) with Célia Reillon (Arnage) in mixed.
