Success for Our Athletes at Second District Cup Competition Day in Salzkotten

The second district cup competition day took place in Salzkotten again after a ten-year break. The over-30s celebrated their first appearance by testing their strength in a ground tournament. Our athletes showed very good results at the tournament and achieved a number of good placings, including against opponents from the numerous invited clubs from the region.

The seniors and the U18s took to the mat at the start. The men’s team, consisting of Merlin Donner, Arthur Weber and Magomed Aliev, had to defend their lead in the overall ranking. While Merlin and Arthur won gold, Magomed came in third. With these points, the men slipped to second place, but remained only two points behind Höxter and can still attack on the last day of competition. In the women’s competition, the actual U18 starter Viktoria Esau won bronze after three fights.

Roman Enbrecht and Phillip Priemer took the top spot in the U18 category. Danil Macht came second this time. Ibragim Aliev, who fought hard to keep up, secured silver in the U15 age group.

The U13s Matthäus Bitsadze and Erik Peterson came on the gold podium after three and two victories respectively. The U13 district champion Daniel Wutke only had to let Noble from Höxter go ahead of him for the gold after a judge’s decision.

Finally, the U11s showed their skills. Gregor Pauls kept his four opponents at bay and deservedly won the gold medal. Raphael Nehls had to hold his own against three opponents and came second with two wins. Betty Melkov also came second.
