Sveya Konrad Shines in Title Competitions, Falls Just Short of Bronze Medal

She started the title competitions on Friday (June 28, 2024) with two victories. The Leverkusen athlete fought with commitment and confidence against Isabel Bob from Romania and Chloe Schillings from Luxembourg. In the quarterfinals, Sveya Konrad lost to the Polish Hanna Zaitseva. In the consolation round, the TSV judoka remained focused and thus remained on course for a medal. She won twice in a row against Kristina Opanasenko from Ukraine and Lucia Carpio Fernandez from Spain. Unfortunately, Sveya Konrad had to admit defeat in the bronze medal match against Ilariia Tsurkan from Ukraine by an armbar.

A total of 511 athletes from 44 countries took part.

The next sporting highlight for Sveyarike Konrad could be the U18 World Championships. The entire judo department is keeping its fingers crossed for Sveya’s next nomination.
