Taylor Fritz wins third Eastbourne title

The English grass is definitely going well for Taylor Fritz. The American won his third title in Eastbourne (ATP 250) this Saturday, after 2019 and 2022, after his victory in two sets (6-4, 6-3) and 1h09 against Max Purcell. This is his eighth title on the ATP circuit, the second in 2024 after that of Delray Beach, mid-February. This success allows him to become American No. 1 again since he will regain his 12th place, at the expense of Tommy Paul, who had stolen it from him last week.

The American will now join another grass, further north, since he will make his debut at Wimbledon on Tuesday against another Australian, Christopher O’Connell. His best result in the temple of the All England Club remains a quarter-final in 2022. He then lost to Rafael Nadal. This year, he could face Alexander Zverev in the 8th.
