Team Canada’s Archery Roster Announced for Olympic Debut

Archery Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee announced the athletes making up Team Canada on Friday. Both archers will be making their Olympic debuts.

Aged 29 and originally from Laval, Chénier lost to Kristine Esebua in the final of the Pan-American continental qualifications in April. She then qualified for the Olympic recurve event.

Archery Canada previously said Esebua, a four-time Olympian for Georgia who immigrated to Canada in 2019, was ineligible to represent the country in Paris.

Peters, 27, won the silver medal in the men’s individual recurve event at the 2023 World Archery Championships. It was Canada’s best result in the event.

By qualifying both a male and a female athlete, Canada will also participate in the mixed team event in Paris.

The archery events at the Olympics will be held from July 25 to August 4.
