In extremis call-up of the young judoka Savita Russo, of the Ecodep Judo Club Koizumi Scicli, to the Paris Olympics. Savita, just turned 19, was brought back through the continental quota (the last of the 12 available) in the 63 kg category after having won a splendid European bronze this season. She was the first of those excluded, until a few days ago, but in the end the surprise arrived. The mayor of Scicli Mario Marino and the sports councilor Valeria Timperanza together with the municipal administration congratulate themselves on this prestigious achievement which brings the name of Scicli high under the Olympic torch. Naturally, the managers of Koizumi Scicli are happy as they see the sporting and social work of a gym association symbolizing the good things of the last 40 years in Scicli rewarded.
