Sad news has shocked the Latvian football family, as former U19 indoor football team player Žanuels Skopenko has died prematurely at the age of 24, the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) informs.
During his career, Skopenko has represented such domestic clubs as Rēzekne FA, Jēkabpils SC, TFK “Rēzekne” and “Valmiera FC”,
He also played in the Latvian U19 indoor football team, with which he participated in the final tournament of the European Championship held in Riga in September 2019.
In recent years, he played football in Lithuania.
