The fourth edition of the ‘Caleta-Caleta Crossing’ in support of multiple sclerosis unites La Graciosa and Famara this Saturday – La Provincia

The Teguise City Council and the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium join forces to organize the fourth edition of the ‘Caleta-Caleta Crossing’‘, a swimming competition of 15 kilometers between Caleta de Sebo (La Graciosa) and Caleta de Famara (Lanzarote) with the purpose of raise awareness and make visible multiple sclerosis.

The mayor, Olivia Duquehighlights the importance of this test as a symbol of unity between Lanzarote and La Graciosa in the fight against this neurodegenerative disease.

Reference in sports

The Councilor for Tourism and Beaches, Rita Hernandezhighlights that this charity sporting event not only positions Teguise as a charitable municipality, but also reaffirms its prestige as a benchmark for sporting excellence. The ‘Travesía Caleta-Caleta’ seeks to become a recognised event within open water competitions in the Canary Islands.

Event details

The competition will take place on Saturday, June 29 at 9:00 a.m. departing in La Graciosawith an estimated duration of five to six hours depending on sea conditions.

The money raised during the ‘Caleta-Caleta Journey’ will be allocated to the Lanzarote Association for the Assistance of Multiple Sclerosis (AlanEM), in a gesture of solidarity and commitment to those who suffer from this disease.
