The 30 teams of the North American basketball league NBA select the stars of tomorrow in the drafts. Pacome Dadiet and Juan Nunez also have reason to hope.
On June 26 and 27, a childhood dream will come true for a total of 60 top-class talents in New York. For the first time, two players from a German club, Juan Nunez and Pacôme Dadiet from Ulm, will be in the NBA Draft at the same time, in which the 30 teams of the North American professional league will select the stars of tomorrow in two rounds.
The highlight of the summer break has already produced legends such as Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Dirk Nowitzki. The registration of Nunez and Dadiet underlines the successful work of Ratiopharm Ulm. “We were one of the first clubs to commit to youth development and to focus on training young talent. Several European teams are now taking this path. With Juan and Pacôme, we have two more candidates after Kilian Hayes and Jeremy Sochan who are about to make the leap to the NBA. It is a rarity that two players from one team are listed, even unique in Germany, as so far only four players have been drafted directly from the BBL into the NBA. This makes us enormously proud and confirms our vision. We are looking forward to the night and hope that both find the right franchise,” explains Ulm’s managing director Dr. Thomas Stoll. Dadiet is already seen by some journalists as a first-round draft pick.
