Górnik rejected the offer for Ennali. Will there be a transfer record?
Ennali didn’t play much for Górnik at the beginning, he started slowly. At the end of the autumn round, he made his first assist – in a 1-2 defeat against Puszcza Niepołomice. In the next two matches, he scored his first two goals in the top league. One gave three points in the match against Pogoń Szczecin (1:0), and the other gave a draw in the match against Radomiak (1:1). In the spring it was much better. Ennali became Górnik’s main player and fit perfectly into the style preferred by Jan Urban. What impressed me most was his speed. He ultimately finished the season with five goals and two assists.
This was enough for the 22-year-old player to be noticed by other clubs. One of them is the German Hamburger SV. The fourth team of the previous season of the 2nd Bundesliga offered Górnik Zabrze an amount ranging from one million to two million euros – reports “Hamburger Abendblatt”. “Bild” gives a more precise amount – EUR 1.1 million. It turns out, however, that this was not enough to convince Zabrze activists to sell the winger and this offer was rejected.
How much money do they expect in a top league club? At the beginning of June, Piotr Koźmiński pointed out that those in power at Górnik are counting on money similar to what they received for Szymon Włodarczyk (EUR 2.5 million) and Daisuke Yokota (EUR 2.3 million). Therefore, Górnik Zabrze’s transfer record of EUR 4.5 million, for which the club sold Szymon Żurkowski to Fiorentina, is unlikely to be broken.
For now, Lawrence Ennali is taking part normally in Górnik Zabrze’s pre-season preparations. In the first round of the Ekstraklasa, Zabrze will play against Lech Poznań. This match will take place on Sunday, July 21.
