The Herrenberg Wanderers will soon be celebrating their 30th anniversary. Dirk Hoffmann, Marcus Fuchs and Julien Eickelmann look ahead to the early successes, the solidarity and the future of the baseball and softball club.
On the baseball field, a variety of skills are required to be successful. Singing is not one of them. But the Herrenberg Wanderers were able to do that in their extremely successful early years. “We created a song that we sang during warm-ups,” recalls Marcus Fuchs, the club’s first player-coach. A line like “To lose a game, there is no way, our catcher is the famous Ray,” which honors the quality of the catcher, is still fresh in his mind.
