Gurgl in the rear part of the Ötztal is known for its high mountain landscape and its hospitality. From 21 June to 15 September mountain enthusiasts and those seeking relaxation will be able to explore the peaks around the town on foot, by bicycle or comfortably with the ski lifts. The high mountains to discover: the relaxing landscapes of Gurgl
Nestled among three thousand centuries-old pine forests, the destination promises relaxation in contact with nature. The pleasant temperatures and fresh air at this altitude contribute to being active, even despite the heat in the valley. You can recharge your batteries sustainably with Kneipp treatments, forest baths, yoga or with peaceful hikes and leisurely (e-)bike tours. The Zirbenwald nature lounge with two platforms at the Rotmoos waterfall is a perfect photo spot that invites you to linger. At the different stations in the Zirbenwald, Rotmoos and Gaisbergtal, as well as on the circular route of the Piccard Bridge, audio guides tell interesting stories about the region.
Hiking trails for everyone
You start from your front door or comfortably take the summer ski lifts towards the extensive network of paths: excursions to high-altitude refuges or circular excursions with a view of the glacier are possible without too much effort. The viewing platform at the Kirchenkarbahn (2,839 m) and the Hohe Mut Alm offer an incredible panorama of the approximately 21 peaks above 3000 m.
Even in cloudy weather, hikers can reach numerous mountain huts offering high-quality cuisine. An adventure playground, the nature park information point “Glacier – Climate – High Mountain Research”, the water falcon trail and the Rotmoostal are waiting to be discovered.

For guests seeking pure relaxation, there is the Alpine Yoga Summer, with the impressive mountain backdrop and Hatha-style yoga session on the Hohe Mut mountain hut ensuring harmony of body and mind. The Top Mountain Gourmet gondola lift invites gourmets to take a culinary tour on the Kirchenkarbahn.
For those with a sweet tooth, the picnic backpack from the Hohe Mut Alm hut full of regional delicacies is an experience for the palate in the unique high mountain atmosphere. Breakfast in the mountains on the Hohe Mut hut at 2,600 meters guarantees further moments of pleasure. By bike in the Diamond of the Alps
Gurgl is also the perfect location for cyclists. For those who love running, the royal tour up to Passo del Rombo is a challenging and rewarding sporting experience. Two-wheel enthusiasts can reach the refuges on their own or with the help of an e-bike using the ski lifts.
