For several years now, Teddy Riner has been enjoying happy days with the woman who made his heart skip a beat by chance: Luthna Plocus. A discreet woman who allows the champion to always keep his feet on the ground.
Holder of a record 11 world championship titles in judo, Teddy Riner is undoubtedly one of the most popular French athletes. Thanks to his jovial temperament and his Olympic exploits, the judoka has made a special place for himself in the hearts of the French. But his heart is already taken, by a certain Luthna. And this, for several years.
Luthna Plocus on her partner: “I had never heard of Teddy Riner”
It all started in 2007. While Teddy Riner was already reaching the top of his discipline, Luthna Plocus was pursuing a career in communications within the Lagardère Unlimited group. And even though Teddy Riner was already a well-known athlete, crowned world judo champion for the first time, the young woman, who is also a model, did not know him: “I never admitted it to Teddy but at the time, I had never heard of him!” she admitted in 2016 in the columns of the JDD. At first, the two young people formed a friendship, until the obvious became clear to them: in 2010, they became a couple. The beginning of happiness, enlarged in 2014 by the birth of a little boy named Eden, and that of Isis, in 2018.
A celebrity sometimes difficult to manage for Teddy Riner’s companion
The rest of Teddy Riner’s career is something that all French people know: a number of medals and a popularity that has continued to rise. Enough to impress Luthna Riner, who has not always known how to deal with such notoriety, especially at the beginning of her relationship with Teddy Riner: “I didn’t feel legitimate, because it was all new, or because I’m too shy,” she confided in a documentary on France 3. Discreet at first, Luthna Riner gradually came out of her reserve, publicly showing herself on the arm of her famous lover, even if the interest that the latter arouses continues to be sometimes complicated to manage, as she explained to the JDD: “I quickly understood that he would never belong to me completely. I have to share him with the whole world because he has made history and will continue to do so after his career.”
