The Rise of Badminton at the Olympics and in France: A Look at the Sport’s Growing Popularity

Badminton has been at the Olympic Games since Barcelona 1992. As with table tennis, the sport is dominated by Asian countries but the gap is narrowing with the rest of the world such as Denmark which has won 5 medals in the last 3 Olympics.

Badminton has 5 disciplines:
– men’s singles
– simple dames
– men’s doubles
– double dames
– mixed doubles

When will the tests take place in Paris?

The events take place from July 27 to August 5 at the Arena Porte de la Chapelle in Paris.

Still no medals…

Badminton is one of the rare sports where France has not won any medals… while waiting for Paris 2024!

Where to try badminton in Héricourt?

The Héricourt badminton club welcomes you to the Champ de Foire gymnasium on Mondays between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. for adults, Tuesdays between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. for competitive adults, Wednesdays between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. for mini bad and between 2 p.m. 4 p.m. for young people.

The club also welcomes you on Thursdays between 6pm and 8pm for young competitors and between 8pm and 10pm for adult competitors, on Fridays between 4:30pm and 6:15pm for 9-13 year olds and between 6:15pm and 8pm for 13-18 year olds. You can also play free on Saturdays between 5pm and 7pm and on Sundays between 10am and 12pm.

The club welcomes you to the Marcel Cerdan complex on Tuesdays between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Wednesdays between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
