One of the young people who has the most projection is Darío Osorio, a winger who is barely 20 years old who broke through at the University of Chile and sparked the interest of Real Madrid and Manchester City. Born in the small commune of Hijuelas on January 24, 2004, he fell in love with baseball from a very young age. At the age of seven he had a trial at Santiago Wanderers and, despite being one of the most outstanding, he preferred not to stay at the capital club. In 2015 he attended another massive test at the U, and excelled again. In this case he did decide to stay and had the opportunity to meet Eduardo Vargas, one of his idols. After six years in the youth ranks, in 2021 he was brought up by Rafael Dudamel, the then Primera coach, to carry out the preseason. He began to demonstrate his quality in friendlies, but saw official minutes that season.
At the beginning of 2022, with Santiago Escobar as coach, he had an outstanding performance in the Summer Tournament held in La Plata, where in addition to his team, Colo Colo, Boca and San Lorenzo participated. Precisely against Cacique, in the classic, he scored the discount for his team. In February he made his professional debut in a 3-2 defeat against Ñublense, and a month later he scored his first goal, against Unión Española. In his first season in the Old Continent he scored nine goals and distributed two assists in 25 games. In addition, he became champion of the Danish league.
In the middle of the polls and the subsequent transfer, his relationship with La Roja began. His rise through the youth categories until reaching the Major League was meteoric. In fact, there was a difference of just six months between his debut in the U-20 and his first call-up at the hands of Eduardo Berizzo.
