Magda Linette (46th WTA) successfully qualified for the WTA tournament in Eastbourne. First she defeated Yafan Wang (72nd WTA), and then Ranah Akua Stoiber (600th WTA). She started her competition in the main draw with a meeting with Anastazja Pavlyuchenkova (25th WTA).

Magda Linette is off to a great start at Eastbourne. Great comeback
The Russian looked much better from the beginning of the match. She quickly broke Linette and then held her own pass. As a result, she led 3:0. The Polish woman was unable to put up an equal fight later on. Pavlyuchenkova completely dominated, resulting in another break. Linette was able to score only one game and thus lost the first set 1:6. The game lasted only 26 minutes.
The second batch looked much different. Linette looked much better and the match was very even. Unfortunately, in the seventh game our tennis player failed again. She performed terribly on her own serve and lost to zero. Thanks to this, Pavlyuchenkova took a 4:3 lead and was getting closer to victory. However, Linette managed to defend herself brilliantly. First, she won the service game, and then she broke her opponent in great style, leading to a 5:5 draw. Then both tennis players shared the games and a tie-break was needed to decide the match.
Linette performed better in this match and won 7:4. As a result, we witnessed the third set. The Pole continued to play well and took advantage of her opponent’s increasingly frequent mistakes. In the fifth game, she broke the Russian and led 3:2. Pavlyuchenkova was unable to catch up with Linette and the Pole ultimately won 6:4. Our player made a great comeback.
Thus, Linette advanced to the next round. Now she will face Karolina Muchova (35th WTA) or Elina Awanesian (81st WTA).
