More than ever leaving for the Warriors, Klay Thompson would generate the interest of several franchises on the free agent market. And for a famous US journalist, he will have to make an important concession in order to reach his dream destination.
For 13 seasons, he has shown unwavering loyalty. Selected with the 11th pick in the 2011 Draft by the Warriors, Klay Thompson has become one of the pillars and has played a leading role in the franchise’s dynasty. He can also boast of having formed one of the best backcourts in history with Stephen Curry. However, more than ever, the use of the past seems appropriate to draw up such a report.
Indeed, in the absence of an agreement with his leaders regarding an extension, the rear-star positions himself as one of the big fish of free agency. Several teams would therefore already be interested in his services, including the Lakers where LeBron James would be waiting for him. However, if he wishes to join the latter in Los Angeles, this will be done on a very specific condition according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer :
The obligatory sacrifice for Klay Thompson to go to the Lakers
Lakers, Clippers, and Mavs among suitors for Klay, per Shams.
The Lakers are the ideal fit IMO. Sign for the MLE. Still bring 40% shooting from 3, and protected on defense by AD. LA is also is home. His dad announces games on the radio. If you’re gonna leave that’s the spot. https://t.co/Tv8fbuUMhJ

The Lakers, Clippers and Mavs are among the suitors for Klay according to Shams (Charania). In my opinion, the Lakers would be the ideal fit for him, but that would mean he would have to sign for the mid-level exception. He still shoots at 40% at 3 points and he would be protected on defense by Anthony Davis. LA is also his home. His father comments on matches on the radio. If he has to go, this is the place to go.
A native of Los Angeles and son of Lakers legend Mychal Thompson, Killa Klay would therefore have every interest in following in his footsteps with the Angelinos. However, this can only be done through the signing of a contract with an annual salary… of 12.9 million dollars, much less than his claims so far. Enough to push Internet users to be doubtful about this hypothetical scenario:
Why would he sign for the MLE if he literally is leaving Warriors because he wants money?

Why would he sign for the MLE when he literally left the Warriors because he wanted more money?
Highly coveted within the league despite his recent difficulties, Klay Thompson could, among other things, join the Lakers. This is what Kevin O’Connor invites him to do, even if the prospect of only touching on the mid-level exception is enough to slow him down.
