From June 8 to 16, the international “Tennis Europe” competition “Riga Open by LTS” took place in Jurmala, in which young people of the U12, U14 and U16 age groups took part, the portal learned from the Liepāja Tennis Sports School.
Liepāja Tennis Sports School was represented in this competition by Ance Skripka in the U12 age group, Gustavs Brižs in the U14 age group and Elizabete Marta Hamitova, Alice Latiša and Jeļizaveta Rižkova in the U16 age group.
The most successful tournament was held by Gustavs Brižs, who was seeded number 2 in the U14 age group singles competition.
Gustavs fought to the finals, where in the end, in a tense three-set match, he recognized the superiority of his opponent from Lithuania, seeded with number 3, thus finishing in 2nd place.

A similar success was also achieved by Elizabete Marta Hamitova from Liepāja, who was seeded 6th in the singles competition of the U16 age group.
Elizabete also fought until the final of the competition, in which she recognized the superiority of her opponent from Latvia, seeded with number 1, thus also finishing in 2nd place.

Meanwhile, on June 15, Liepāja Tennis Sports School student Jaroslava Golovanova took part in the local tennis competition “LSTA award competition” in the U14 age group, where Jaroslava won 2nd place.
