On Thursday afternoon, Borussia Dortmund officially announced that Łukasz Piszczek had become Nuri Sahin’s assistant coach. In the 2023/2024 season, Turecki was Edin Terzić’s assistant, and from the next competition he will be the head coach of the last Champions League finalist.

Immediately after the official announcement, Łukasz Piszczek said a few words about the topic in an entry on portal X. “I am very happy to return to Borussia Dortmund, this time as an assistant coach. Thank you for trusting Nuri Sahin,” wrote the former Polish representative.
Łukasz Piszczek and Nuri Sahin know each other well. Both men played together for Borussia Dortmund in 2010-2011 and 2013-2018. In the first stage, Sahin was considered one of the most talented midfielders and in the summer of 2011 he joined Real Madrid. However, injuries stopped his development and after two years he returned to the Dortmund club.
As for Łukasz Piszczek, he is one of the legends of Borussia Dortmund, for whom he played in 2010-2021. During this time, he played 382 games, scoring 19 goals and making 64 assists. Together with Borussia, Piszczek won two championships, three German Cups and three German Super Cups. Additionally, he played in the Champions League final in the 2012/2013 season, in which BVB lost to Bayern Munich 1-2.
