The television rights to Roland-Garros change from creamery across the Atlantic, for a record amount.

TNT Sports, a channel from the Warner Bros Discovery group which is the American parent company of Eurosport (and one of the leading media groups in the world), will broadcast Roland-Garros for the next ten years in the United States, thus replacing the coverage history of NBC where John McEnroe was notably a consultant. “TNT Sports is delighted to partner with the French Tennis Federation and exclusively present an unprecedented broadcast of Roland-Garros – one of the most prestigious sporting events each year – across our entire range of platforms “, writes CEO Luis Silberwasser.

Moretton: “We hope to gain new fans in the United States, a key territory for the FFT”

According to the New York Times, this agreement amounts to 65 million euros annually, or 650 million for the FFT over the entire contract. President Gilles Moretton is obviously “very proud”: “The Federation is ensuring maximum exposure for Roland-Garros in the United States, which will help to further promote the tournament. With this long-term agreement, we hope win new fans in this key territory for the FFT.”

As the Warner Bros Discovery group specifies, this contract was facilitated by the solid relationship that Roland-Garros maintains with Eurosport. If the tournament, for only a few years, has no longer been broadcast on French television, this is still the case in 55 other countries. TNT Sports, of course, will be on site starting next year, including in the studio. “Our use of the latest technology and innovations will elevate our event coverage, as well as our creative storytelling.”
