Tommy Paul defeated Lorenzo Musetti in the final at London’s Queen’s Club

This year, Tommy Paul won the coveted title at the ATP World Tour 500 tournament at London’s Queen’s Club: The American won the final after 88 minutes of play with 6:1, 7:6 (8) against the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, thus winning for the second time this season after winning the title at the hard court tournament in Dallas at the beginning of February.

Paul won the quarter-finals against local hero Jack Draper in three sets after the Briton defeated Spanish defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the round of 16 and won the tournament at the grass court event at Stuttgart’s Weissenhof last week.

Musetti must continue to wait for third title

For Paul, it is his third ATP Tour title overall (2021 in Stockholm), and winning it will also make him the US number one in the men’s rankings starting Monday. Taylor Fritz had already lost to Australian Jordan Thompson in two clear sets in the quarterfinals on Friday.

The 22-year-old Musetti, on the other hand, has to wait for his third full success. The southern European has so far lifted the winner’s trophy in Hamburg and Naples (both in 2022).

Here is the individual tableau in London.
