Toprak Razgatlioglu: From WSBK World Title to MotoGP Potential

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Toprak Razgatlioglu become one of the World Superbike racers (WSBK) who has talent. The racer from Türkiye won the WSBK world title in 2021 with Yamaha.

In the 2024 season, Toprak moves from Yamaha to BMW. Together with the BMW, the 27 year old rider also appeared impressive, he even scored a hat-trick of wins at Misano last weekend.

Realizing how valuable the talents of Toprak, the team manager, are Ducati, Davide Tardozzi expressed a desire to have him as a racer MotoGP.

“He (Toprak) is a real talent and I would like to have him in MotoGP in the last few years, because he has very attractive characteristics to race in MotoGP,” said Tardozzi, quoted from Motosan.esThursday (20/6/2024).

“I think he can be a great rider. I’m very surprised that someone didn’t take him to the championship (MotoGP), because he could put on a good show. He made the leap to manufacturing at SBK. “In the past, Yamaha enjoyed its performance and now BMW enjoys it,” he continued.

Previously, Yamaha had given Toprak the opportunity to try the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP motorbike. However, the test was not completely successful and Yamaha chose not to continue Toprak to the MotoGP team.

It was also rumored that BMW would enter MotoGP as early as 2026. This is certainly an opportunity for Toprak to enter MotoGP with the German racing motorbike.
