Toulouse-UBB (59-3): Ugo Mola, the “skinned alive” who has made Stade Toulousain a winning machine again

On this night where stars rain down, an inner silence resists the din. A brief moment of calm. A suspended time. Nothing more than a feeling, that of duty accomplished, of work well done. And then, this delicious impression of being in the right place at the right time. On the pitch of the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille, Stade Toulousain has just won its 23rd French championship title against Bordeaux-Bègles, this Friday evening (59-3). Ugo Mola is savoring it. With a smile on his lips and his mind at rest, for once.

The manager has pulled off his coup. At 51, the former three-quarters of the French XV has won a new Brennus Shield – European Cup double after the one in 2021 and has further expanded a list of achievements that would make all his rivals pale: four Top 14 titles (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024) and two European Cup titles (2021, 2024) since his arrival in 2015. Here he is following in the footsteps of the absolute reference in Toulouse, Guy Novès (10 Brennus Shields, 4 European Cups including a double in 1996).
