This was stated in a joint statement by Badminton Asia and PBSI.
“Zhang Jije, a Chinese singles player, collapsed during a night match and was taken to hospital and died yesterday at 23:20 local time,” the statement said.

According to the statement, Ji-Je was playing in a group stage match against Japan when he collapsed and was treated by tournament and team doctors.
Ji Ji was also taken to the hospital by ambulance in less than two minutes. But it was not possible to save his life.
“Badminton Asia, PBSI and the organizing committee express their deepest condolences and condolences to Zhang’s parents, family and the Chinese Badminton Association (CBA),” the statement read.
