Lina Ließ and Lina Pilzweger from TSB Ravensburg won the South German Judo Championship. Ferdinand Schick and David Rambosek came third. Evangelos Cafezakis achieved a good fifth place in the 37 kilogram category with two wins and two losses.

The best 16 fighters from the regional associations of Baden, Württemberg and Bavaria met in Abensberg, Bavaria, for the U15 championships. The South German championships are the highest level of competition in this age group.

Pilzweger defeats Württemberg champion

Pilzweger fought her way into the final in the highly competitive weight class up to 57 kilograms with impressive confidence. After a bye, the Ravensburg native defeated Carmen Behnke (TV Neustadt, Bavaria) with a hip throw and subsequent hold and Theresa Sauter (SV Tiefenbach, Bavaria) with a hip throw, both in the first few seconds of the fight.

In the final fight against the Württemberg champion Nora Feile (JZ Heubach), Pilzweger dominated the fight from the first second, achieved a high score and ultimately won the ground fight with a textbook turning technique.

Ließ needed two victories to win the title in the lightest weight class up to 33 kilograms. The Ravensburg student won the decisive victories against Emma Augenstein (JV Nürtingen, Württemberg) with an inside thigh throw and in the final fight with a holding technique in ground fighting.

Schick and Rambosek win bronze

In the boys’ category, Schick fought his way into the semi-finals with two victories against the strong Batiuk Kyryl (Jahn Nürnberg, Bavaria). In an exciting and open fight, Schick held his own against the eventual South German champion for a long time, but was ultimately defeated by a self-fall technique. In the small final, the Ravensburg fighter defeated Lukas Wagner (JZ Heubach, Württemberg) in the golden score with a beautiful combination and thus secured the bronze medal up to 34 kilograms.

In the weight class up to 50 kilograms, Rambosek lost in the first fight against the eventual tournament winner Burak Mykyta (BC Karlsruhe). In the consolation round, Rambosek won the bronze medal with victories against Adrian Gillig (TSV Tauberschofsheim) and Adrian Esmer (Heidelberger JC) with inner thigh throws and Matti Hauer (KSV Esslingen) with a hip throw.
