Romania faces Ukraine on the first matchday of Group E at the Allianz Arena, Monday (17/6/2024) evening WIB. Romania actually lost possession of the ball by around 28 percent compared to 72 percent.
Then, Romania was only given nine attempts, five of which were on goal. However, Romania really taught Ukraine how to maximize opportunities.
Romania killed Ukraine from all angles before killing them through goals from their players. Not an ordinary goal in fact, because Ukraine destroyed it with their long-range “missile”.
The first was from Nicolae Stanciu’s long-range shot which tore Andriy Lunin’s net from a long-range shot in the 29th minute. Meanwhile in the second half, Razvan Marin hit the corner of Lunin’s goal with a horizontal kick from outside the penalty box in the 53rd minute.
Denis Dragus scored another goal four minutes later to seal Romania’s 3-0 win. The results were greeted with joy by the Romanian players, especially Stanciu.

The goal proved Stanciu’s capacity as Romania’s mainstay attacking midfielder. He has scored 12 goals in 58 caps.
“Scoring a goal in the Euro finals and winning the way we did was incredible,” said Stanciu, who was named man of the match by UEFA.com
“We have never felt this before. My brothers, my father and my wife were all crying with emotion.”
