It is not easy to reach the level that the cajista team has reached these last two campaigns, with the Copa del Rey 2023 and Basketball Champions League 2024 titles, but it is much more difficult to stay among the elite. And that is what the club intends to do by betting on long-term renewals with the heavyweights of the squad.

Kalinoski and Taylor, until

Yesterday, Tuesday, Unicaja announced the extension of the contracts of Tyler Kalinoski and Kameron Taylor. Both players will be in Malaga for the next three seasons, until June 2027. They are two very important players in the team’s rotation and with this new contract, Unicaja ensures that it will have two top-level pieces in the boxing perimeter for the next three years. .

During the recently completed season, Kalinoski has played 59 matches throughout the different competitions (Liga Endesa, BCL, Endesa Super Cup and Copa del Rey), being, along with Kameron Taylor, the player who has played the most matches this season of the 60 that the team has played. In total, he has played 119 games defending the green shirt in these last two seasons, in which he has participated in the last two titles won by Unicaja: Copa del Rey Badalona 2023 and BCL 2024.

As for the former Basquet Girona player, Unicaja decided several weeks ago to increase its commitment to the North American, improving its record compared to this year, increasing the relationship that ended in the summer of next year for two more years and protecting its presence in the green and purple club with a termination clause proof of the Euroleague teams, who had him in their sights.

Alberto Díaz, until 2028

The commitment to create a medium-term project is confirmed with these two agreements until 2027, to which must be added two other operations of similar significance carried out now 12 months ago, the summer of 2023. And last year it was closed one of the great wishes of the Los Guindos club in recent years by renewing Alberto Díaz until 2028. The Malaga player then signed the contract of his life, which will allow him to be linked to Unicaja for four more seasons.

Ibon Navarro, until 2026

In addition to the important players on the squad, the entity was clear last year that Ibon Navarro’s continuity on the bench was a priority. Signed the previous year, after being dismissed from MoraBanc Andorra, Ibon became the alma mater of a project that won the Copa del Rey in Badalona and played spectacular basketball.

Unicaja renewed the Basque coach for three seasons last summer, Therefore, Ibon will remain linked to the composer’s bench, at least, until June 2026.
