Uruguay National Team Arrives in Kansas City Ahead of Copa América Showdown

The delegation of the Uruguayan national team arrived this Friday night in Kansas City, the city where next Monday they will play their last game of the group stage of the Copa América against the local team, the United States, from 10:00 p.m. our country.

Before traveling, the players who had fewer minutes against Bolivia on Thursday trained on the field in New Jersey in the morning, while the rest did regenerative work. They started their trip around 5:00 p.m. and arrived at Kansas at 8:00 p.m., where Uruguayan road workers were waiting for them.

At the door of the hotel there were dozens of compatriots who wanted to get closer to the players shouting “I am celestial.” Some footballers stopped to take photos and sign autographs for the fans, among them Luis Suárez, the most sought-after member of the squad.

This Saturday there will be training behind closed doors at Arrowhead Stadium and tomorrow, the day before the game, they will practice at Swope. On Monday will be the match against the locals, in which Uruguay will seek to take first place in group C and thus face the second in D.

La Celeste has six points, three more than the United States and Panama, the team that will face Bolivia at the same time, which has not added any points. On the other side, Colombia has already qualified with six and, for now, Brazil is getting in with four, but Costa Rica, which has one, has a minimal chance.
