Venezuela has rivals for the Davis Cup

The Venezuelan tennis team already knew its rivals for the action groups of zone III of America of the Davis Cup after a draw held last Sunday, June 16.

This team will be made up of captain Harold Castillo and the rackets of Ricardo Rodríguez, Brandon Pérez, Sebastián Pino and Oscar Martínez, who are already in Paraguay to face their rivals.

Venezuela is in Group A along with the teams of Paraguay, Costa Rica and the Bahamas, while Group B is made up of Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Bermuda, Guatemala and Puerto Rico.

According to the Venezuelan Tennis Federation (FVT) in a statement, the two countries with the best results in each group will automatically achieve promotion and will play a final match to define first place in the competition.

“On the other hand, the two countries that come second in each of the groups will play a series that will define third place and also the last place to advance to the global playoff of World Group 2,” the text adds.

The competition, which will end this June 22, will also determine that the team with the worst score will go directly to Group 4 of America.
