After an exceptional season where all age categories (from juniors to Seniors) were represented at the National level, 1st Division, but also 2nd and 3rd Division cadets/juniors/seniors, all that was missing was the veterans to finish in style ..It was done last weekend in Paris where 5 representatives of the JCC lined up in different categories!
The club’s technical director, Yann DU CLOSEL, who gives his students sound advice throughout the year, was keen to show his protégés that he still had some left in his chest! It was with great success that he won all his fights by Ippon and that he imposed himself by a beautiful Uchi mata in the final, thus winning the title of French champion of -81kg!
Jordy PAGANI, who made his first participation at the national level here, lost in the first round, Chris CHARDIN, after winning his first fight, gave in in 1/8 without being repechaged…just like Mickaël TERRIER who had nevertheless started well with a superb ippon..Yet the favorite of his category, Jérôme RION, won his first 2 fights by Ippon before missing out on his 1/4 final..disappointed he only finished 7th..
Very good trip however, which ends a great season for the veterans of the judo club, who can be proud to return with a French champion title to the Dojo on rue de la Paix!
