VfB Stuttgart Targets Ermedin Demirovic as New Striker

With top striker Serhou Guirassy about to move to Borussia Dortmund, the Swabians now want to strengthen their striker position.

According to consistent media reports, VfB Stuttgart is already holding concrete talks with FC Augsburg about their top scorer Ermedin Demirovic.

While the Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio and the “Bild” newspaper are already writing that the transfer is imminent, “Sky” is a little more cautious. According to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg, negotiations are underway and the player is open to a transfer to VfB. Niclas Füllkrug is also said to still be a candidate.

The potential transfer fee for the 26-year-old is said to be between 15 and 25 million euros, depending on the source. If transferred, the striker could replace the Argentinian Nicolas Gonzalez (11.26 million euros transfer fee in 2018/19) as the record signing in Stuttgart. Last season, the Hamburg native, who plays for the Bosnian national team, scored 15 goals and provided ten assists in 33 Bundesliga games.
