The Belgian Football Association has apologized for a video in which the question is asked which Belgian player could unfairly stop France’s attacking star Kylian Mbappé. The clip, published on social media, sparked discussions ahead of the European Championship round of 16 match between the two countries in Düsseldorf this Monday. The video has since been deleted.
In it, comedian Pablo Andres asked the question: “Who will attack Mbappé on the shin?” Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana and Andres himself sang the name of the Everton professional in chorus.

“The video was meant to be humorous, but it was misunderstood and we have decided to delete it,” press spokesman Stefan Van Loock told the Belgian daily newspaper “Het Nieuwsblad,” adding: “If anyone feels offended by the video, we apologize.”
