Vietnam U-16 were held to a 1-1 draw by Cambodia in the second match of Group B AFF U-16 Cup 2024.
In the match held at the Sriwedari Stadium, Solo, Tuesday (25/6) evening, the Cambodia vs Vietnam match was tough.
From the start of the game the two teams traded attacks. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw.
Then in the second half Vietnam managed to score a goal in the 58th minute. Vietnam leads 1-0 over Cambodia.
However, Vietnam’s lead only lasted five minutes after Cambodia was able to equalize the score 1-1 in the 63rd minute.
At the end of the second half Cambodia had a golden opportunity, but failed to convert it into a goal.
Likewise, Vietnam managed to create a chance in the final seconds through player number 14, but failed to score.
Until the match ended there were no additional goals scored by either team.
This result keeps Vietnam in first place in Group B of the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup with four points from the two matches played.
This result made Vietnam fail to continue the positive trend after in their first Group B match, they successfully slaughtered Brunei with a landslide score of 15-0.
Meanwhile, this draw meant that Cambodia managed to move up to second place, displacing Myanmar by scoring four points from the two matches played.
