Standings AFF U-16 Cup experienced changes after Vietnam failed to beat Cambodia on Tuesday (25/6) evening. The following is the standings for the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup after Vietnam was detained by Cambodia.
Vietnam U-16 was surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw by Cambodia in the second match of Group B of the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup.
This result keeps Vietnam in first place in Group B of the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup with four points from the two matches played.
This result also made Vietnam fail to continue the positive trend after in their first Group B match they successfully slaughtered Brunei with a landslide score of 15-0.
Meanwhile, this draw meant that Cambodia managed to move up to second place, displacing Myanmar by scoring four points from the two matches played. In the first match, Cambodia successfully beat Myanmar 2-1.
Meanwhile in Group A, the U-16 Indonesian National Team still leads the standings with six points from two wins. Indonesia’s position is tied to Laos in second place in Group A with six points.
Then in Group C, Malaysia temporarily leads with three points, followed by Thailand in second place with one point and Australia in third place with one point.
In the Cambodia vs Vietnam match which was held at the Sriwedari Stadium, Solo, Tuesday (25/6) evening, the match was tough.
Since the beginning of the game, both teams traded attacks. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw.
Then in the second half Vietnam finally managed to score a goal in the 58th minute. Vietnam leads 1-0 over Cambodia.
However, Vietnam’s lead only lasted five minutes after Cambodia equalized the score at 1-1 in the 63rd minute.
At the end of the second half, Cambodia and Vietnam both had golden opportunities, but failed to convert them into goals.
In fact, both teams had many opportunities throughout the match. However, until the match ended, no additional goals had been scored by either team.
