Volvo electric trucks have traveled more than 80 million kilometers, equivalent to 2,000 laps around the world, since Volvo launched its first electric truck models in 2019. These trucks have reduced CO2 emissions while at the same time have significantly improved the working environment for drivers.

New tracking data from Volvo’s electric truck fleet reveals that they have traveled more than 80 million kilometers in commercial traffic around the world since 2019. Covering the same distance with equivalent diesel trucks would have consumed more than 25 million liters of diesel and carbon dioxide emissions have been reduced by 68,000 tons.

“I am pleased to see how transport companies are embracing the benefits of electric trucks in daily operations. The transport sector accounts for 7% of global carbon emissions and battery-electric trucks are an important tool to reduce the climate footprint. Thanks to many customers who have been early adopters of these trucks, we can already see the huge potential of this technology,” says Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks.
