Wak Haji Embraces Support from Indonesian Fans during National Team Match

Jakarta – During the Indonesia vs Tanzania national team match at Madya Stadium, Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday 2 June 2024, a number of supporters shouted at Ragnar Oratmangoen with the nickname Wak Haji.

Responding to this, the 26 year old player admitted that he was quite happy and liked it. According to him, Wak Haji is a good nickname.

“I like (being nicknamed Wak Haji), I think it’s a good nickname,” said Ragnar Oratmangoen to reporters after the match.

Furthermore, the player who graduated from NEC Nijmegen said he was happy with the support given by Garuda supporters.

“I also like the support (of the fans),” he added.

Furthermore, Ragnar was a little regretful that in the match against Tanzania, Indonesia only achieved a 0-0 draw. According to him, Shin Tae Yong’s boys should have won, considering the many opportunities created during the 90 minutes.

“I think we should have won (against Tanzania), but in the end (only) the result was a draw,” he said.

The Fortuna Sittard player admitted that he had prepared himself ahead of the 2026 World Cup Qualification match against Iraq which will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, next Thursday 6 June.

“I think we are ready, like today we played good football, we just need to create more opportunities, and of course we have to finish those opportunities well,” concluded the player nicknamed Wak Haji by Indonesian supporters.
