About Atlético de Madrid: “I am focused on the Euro Cup, we will have time later to talk about clubs”

Spanish national team centre-back Robin Le Normand has highlighted the “incredible group” of players that Spain has at Euro 2024, where they are “very confident” and “with a cool head” ahead of this Sunday’s match against Georgia in the round of 16.
“We don’t pay attention to what is said outside. Before the Euro Cup, no one had confidence, now it seems that we are going to win no matter what. We have to have a cool head and approach the game as in the group stage, humble, work, go out with everything to try to win,” he said at a press conference this Saturday about Spanish favoritism.
The defender was also asked about the ‘Red”s clean sheet in the three games so far. “The statistics speak not only of the defensive line, but of the group. If the people in front are not engaged, you are going to concede goals. It speaks very well of the commitment that has been seen so far and that we have to continue like this,” he stated.
Furthermore, Le Normand was asked about his career in the Spanish team and his choice over France. “I was not going to convince everyone. I have said how I feel, I have always also said that I am not going to forget my past, where I grew up, but I have been in Spain for nine years, they have turned me into a footballer, they have allowed me to achieve my dream, and I have grown as a person as well. “It’s every player’s dream. I didn’t know I would get this far, or win a title. There are very few people who win a title with their national team. I’m very grateful for that, the only thing I can do is keep working and try to grow and repay that trust,” he added.
In addition, the center-back pointed out that he feels comfortable with Laporte, but also with Nacho and Vivian. “With Laporte we have played many games together and we have a good connection, but also with Nacho and Vivian. That happens when you are surrounded by very good people. They are very good centre-backs. May we continue to have that complicity and that connection because it helps the group,” he claimed.
