Wimbledon debut on Court 1 for Jannik Sinner. The organizers of the Championships have made official the program for the first day, Monday 1 July, and the match of the world no. 1, engaged with the German Yannick Hanfmann, has been placed as the third match from 2 pm on Court 1, after Medvedev and Sabalenka. As per tradition, the Centre Court will be “inaugurated” by the reigning champion, Carlos Alcaraz.
Not just Sinner, at the All England Club it will be a blue-tinged Monday with nine Italians on the pitch. Opening the day at 12 will be Matteo Arnaldi and Fabio Fognini, respectively engaged on Court 15 and 16 against the American Tiafoe and the German Koepfer. Then it will be Matteo Berrettini’s turn (potential opponent of Sinner in the 2nd round) against the Hungarian Fucsovics, finally in the evening there will be space for Mattia Bellucci and Lorenzo Sonego against Shelton and Navone. Three women’s matches are also scheduled: Paolini-Sorribes Tormo, Trevisan-Keys and Errani-Noskova.
