The All England Club has taken the tough decision not to broadcast Euro 2024 matches at its venue during the Wimbledon Championships next month. This decision will stand even if England reach the final stages of the tournament in Germany.

Debbie Jevans, new president of the All England Club, stated in an interview with the British media The Telegraph that the big screens will only show matches from the oldest tournament in the world, regardless of the potential coincidence with a quarterfinal or semifinal match in England.

Jevans, who is a keen football fan and Leeds fan, explained that with 42,000 tickets sold daily for months and thousands more expected, the majority of visitors come to SW19 to watch the tennis. She also mentioned that the experience for visitors without tickets to the main venues has improved significantly in recent years, especially with the opening of The Southern Village last summer.

“The big screens will show tennis,” Jevans said. “All the screens around the venue will show tennis, as the matches will extend into the evening.” He noted that attendees are more interested in tennis, and highlighted the notable demand for tickets and hospitality packages.
