I watched the final and ranking games at the venue on the last day of “WUBS 2023” last year. I watched from the premium seats in the front row, and this tournament, where the top university basketball players compete, including Ryukyu Golden Kings’ Watari (then at Hakuoh University) and Artiri Chiba’s Kurokawa Kotetsu (then at Tokai University), was full of highlights. What’s more, one ticket is so generous that you can watch four games. It’s a tournament with very high cost performance.

Naoki Hayashi, president of JUBF and chairman of the World University Basketball Series Executive Committee, commented: “We are pleased to announce that WUBS 2024 will begin on August 10th. We are grateful for this, as it is entirely the result of the efforts of all involved. This year, leading universities from overseas will once again participate, and the tournament will be hosted by seven universities, including a Japanese university, and the Japanese Student Selection Team (JUBF Selection). This international tournament between universities from each country will feature a different kind of battle than the national team matches, and we expect it to be a heated and thrilling tournament. We hope that this tournament will help develop the university basketball world in each country and expand the circle of friendship.”
