In Ferrara, FIDASC, a multidisciplinary National Federation recognized by CONI, in its section dedicated to Archery, finds in the Compagnia Arcieri e Balestrieri Filippo degli Ariosti new qualified and highly representative resources in the sector to which they belong.
There are a total of 5 competitions scheduled this year, from the North to the Center of Italy, to form the National Single Championship: the first test of the appeal that the FIDASC regulation will have. An important step for the Estense sport to give further opportunities, starting from the age of 9, to learn a healthy discipline taught by qualified technicians in total safety, fun and that often interacts with the local school, benefiting the psychophysical health of the individuals who practice it as also mentioned in “Zen and Archery” by Eugen Herrigel. The Ferrara company, composed of over one hundred athletes, in which successful teams and elements (both Olympic and historical) already play, has seen regional, national and international titles brought over the years, in the shadow of the Castle, as well as celebrating countless local tournament events and collaborations with organizations for the disabled. It has its main practice field and school near the Bassani Urban Park and has already been making its instructors available for some time, to promote the knowledge of archery, in all its categories.
The meeting between President Gianni Soffritti and Federal coach Moreno Buzzoni, allowed to share goals and organizational methods and to sign the affiliation for 2024 with the organization of two competitions under the aegis of the Federation itself. The regulations include practices in the woods with 3D silhouettes, with competitions on the theme of historical reenactment, in which the philological targets and period clothing, generate sensations that can only be described by trying.
The city of Ferrara, Sunday 12 May 2024, will host at Parco Massari from 9:30 to 13 one of the stages of the historic circuit, which together with other cities throughout the national territory make up the Italian championship. In competition about 70 historical archers who will challenge each other by shooting three arrows in each of the 16 designated shooting areas.
The contemporaneity with “The oldest Palio in the world” will allow athletes and tourists to experience the historical heart of the Este capital, immersing themselves in an open-air work of art, like in an animated painting in which to live as protagonists. A “real reality” in which the orchestration of historical and sports associations will be able to present in Opera Magna. The regional manager Piero Broccanello, reached by telephone, immediately made himself available and satisfied with this declaration of intent, making available all the possible resources of FIDASC.
The President of Filippo degli Ariosti, – Gianni Soffritti – expert professional in risk protection and also member of the FIDASC National Historical Arch Commission, has one of the first objectives of the backstage very clear: “Have fun”. The appointment is soon, leave the house and “Enter into History”.
