Young French Tennis Prodigy Ksenia Efremova Resumes Training on Grass After Elbow Injury

At 14, Ksenia Efremova had already withdrawn from the professional circuit for a rather significant period a few months earlier. The young French tennis prodigy, naturalized last September, suffered from an elbow injury and missed the entire clay court tour. Three months away from tournaments – rather than four, as announced in March by the player – Efremova resumed training on grass at Hurlingham. She will play in the junior tournaments of Roehampton Then Wimbledon.

A premature return

I will miss Roland Garros (my home Grand Slam) and Wimbledon this year. After struggling in Australia with elbow pain, I have to stop playing tennis for 4 months“, wrote the young Frenchwoman on Instagram a few hours after her serious elbow injury, on March 27. She finally resumed three months after her serious injury, on grass: “Back on the courts! First practice of my life on grass. Ready for Roehampton and Wimbledon“, she posted this Wednesday.

As a reminder, she won her first professional tournament in Monastir ($15,000) on December 31, and reached the quarter-finals of the Junior Australian Open in the process. Two feats for such a young player.
