The world of badminton is looking forward to the SHONAI International Badminton taking place this weekend in Japan. This is a tournament that brings together the world’s top U16 prospects and in which Spain is once again participating.

The ones in charge of putting the national accent are Hugo Sanz, from CB Valonsadero, and Sofía García, from CB Pitiús. Accompanied by the coach Carlos Palero, also from CB Valonsadero, they face this challenge as a great opportunity to work and compete with athletes and coaches from all over the planet.

That is why the International Badminton SHONAI Invitational, where only individual events are contested, serves as a way for young Spanish players to gain experience and learn how to compete at a global level and especially in Asian badminton.

The competition starts this Saturday and will begin in a group stage format. The first two in each group will qualify for the quarterfinals, a round that will close the Saturday day. Sunday will be reserved for the semifinals and finals.
