Damien Letulle, a French archer from Normandy, has had an exceptional career. He represented France at the Atlanta Games in 1996. A year later, he suffered a serious accident at INSEP which left him quadriplegic, causing him to lose the use of his legs and fingers. It is thanks to a splint that connects his left hand to his bow and a release device custom-designed to be activated, that Damien Letulle can shoot his arrows.
Despite this handicap, Damien Letulle has not given up his passion for archery. Twenty years after his accident and the designation of Paris as the host city of the 2024 Games, he has decided to take on a new challenge: participating in the Paris 2024 Games.
This bold choice is a testament to Damien Letulle’s unwavering determination to overcome obstacles and achieve his dreams. The para-archery event will be held on September 1, 2024 at Les Invalides in Paris, a symbolic location for Damien, who spent much of his rehabilitation there.
