Adem Bona Signs Deal with Philadelphia 76ers: Can He Succeed in the NBA?

Adem Bona has confirmed his arrival to the NBA. After being chosen in the 41st position of the last draft, the UCLA center has now closed a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, an agreement by which, according to Shams Charania, a journalist from The Athleticis linked to the franchise for four seasons. During these seasons he will receive a total salary of 8 million, making this a low-risk operation for the Pennsylvanians that could become a bargain if the player explodes.

Bona is averaging 12.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in his second year in college football. Although he is a bit short on height compared to other inside players at 2.03 meters, his strength and athleticism have allowed him to make up for it, posting a dominant season that earned him a draft pick. Now, after his debut in the Summer League, the 76ers have decided to sign him to the roster, where he will have the opportunity to work to establish himself over the next four years.

In that sense, it will be interesting to see what weapons he develops in this period, as his physicality may not be enough to succeed in the NBA. So far, he has shown little evidence of being capable of being productive outside the paint, but it is possible that this will be one of the first areas he begins to work on. Can he develop enough to make a name for himself in the league?
