Aguascalientes Shines at the 2024 CONADE National Games: Six Medals in 3×3 Basketball and Badminton

In an outstanding performance at the 2024 CONADE National Games, Aguascalientes continues to demonstrate its sporting potential by obtaining a total of six medals in the disciplines of 3×3 basketball and badminton. With a distribution that includes one gold medal, one silver medal, and four bronze medals, the athletes from Aguascalientes have left a significant mark on this edition of the event.

In 3×3 basketball, the talented young women from Aguascalientes shined brightly. The women’s team in the 17-18 age category took home the coveted gold medal. Made up of Samantha Canizález Díaz, Daira Sofía García Díaz, Merari Citlali Rodríguez Salazar and Brenda Daniela Zavala Hurtado, this team demonstrated their dominance on the court and their ability to overcome their rivals with determination and skill. On the other hand, the women’s team in the 15-16 age category also contributed to the medal count, taking home the bronze medal with Diana Odette Hernández Loperena, Kendra Yazmín García Martínez, Valentina Esmeralda López Floriano and Daniela Zoe Torres Wright as their fundamental pillars.

In the sport of badminton, the representatives of Aguascalientes showed an equally impressive performance. Santiago López won the silver medal in the men’s under-17 singles category, standing out for his technical ability and endurance in the individual competition. In the same category, Fernando Martínez contributed to the state’s success by obtaining the bronze medal, consolidating his position among the best young athletes in Mexico. Also, in the men’s under-17 doubles category, Rodrigo Sánchez and Fernando Martínez formed a formidable duo that culminated in the obtaining of another bronze medal for Aguascalientes.

The U-17 badminton team also made a deep mark on the games. Comprised of Santiago Uziel López Martínez, Ángel Fernando Martínez Valdés, Rodrigo Asael Sánchez Rosales, Jimena Araceli López Martínez and Sofía Gallegos Flores, this team demonstrated their cohesion and tactical skills by winning the bronze medal, adding another notable achievement to Aguascalientes’ impressive overall performance in the competition.

By the way, the 2024 CONADE National Games are reaching the final stretch after the closing ceremony is scheduled for July 8, so it is practically the last week of competition. It is worth mentioning that there are still pending performances by the athletes from Aguascalientes, so the number of medals obtained so far with 148 could increase.

It is worth noting that the Sports Institute of the State of Aguascalientes has closely followed the development of the Nationals, with the intention of giving continuity to the development of the young people and continuing to facilitate their skills in the sport they practice and thus help them reach their maximum potential.
