The first Grand Slam title is what he wants! This is the resolution Alexander Zverev is heading into the Wimbledon tournament with. Now he reveals how he plans to win the grass court classic.

The large garden suits Alexander Zverev just fine. Despite all his title ambitions, which he made clearer than ever before at Wimbledon, the number four in tennis also likes to distract himself by playing golf. Zverev said he ordered a nine-hole golf set with plastic balls online immediately after arriving at the house he had rented for Wimbledon.
“I do it every day. I play against my physio, who gets very angry when he loses. I love to see that,” said the 27-year-old from Hamburg. “Off the court, I’m a little kid,” he said. “I play games. I can’t sit still. I play Mario Kart with my friends.”

As is usual for many professionals, Zverev has rented a house for the third Grand Slam tournament of the year. His brother Mischa Zverev’s family and his two small children are also there. They have also ordered a mini tennis net, Zverev reported.
When the serious first-round matches begin on Monday at the grass court classic in London with the appearances of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, the German number one can still go to the training court. Zverev’s first-round test against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena is not until Tuesday. Zverev wants to present himself at Wimbledon as ready for grass court tennis as he apparently hasn’t felt in recent years.

Zverev highlighted his goals more clearly than ever before. “It’s the first time that I really think I’m here as a candidate to maybe win the title,” said the French Open finalist. He thinks it’s perhaps the most open Wimbledon edition in 20 years.
For a chance at the title, he wants to change his approach to grass tennis, which is dominated by the serve and has many short rallies. “You have to like the grass court. I didn’t like it,” Zverev admitted. “You have to accept that the game might not be as good as on other surfaces,” said Zverev.
