Tiago Gouveia was already on Anderlecht’s radar a year and a half ago. The Mauves’ interest does not seem to have waned since then.
When Jesper Fredberg arrived at Anderlecht during the winter transfer window of the 2022/2023 season, he did not have a large transfer budget.
He had then tried to attract Tiago Gouveiaa right winger who was then 21 years old. But Benfica, his owner club, was leasing him to Estoril, so it was difficult to dislodge him that winter.
Eighteen months later, Gouveia is still on Anderlecht’s radar. Upon his return to Benfica, the Portuguese U21 international was no longer loaned out but hardly played: barely five starts with the Lisbon team in the league.
Not the same profile as Dreyer: Gouveia is right-handed
According to the Portuguese media Record, Anderlecht is back in the fight to lure him to Lotto Park. Benfica, however, renewed their confidence in him by renewing his contract until 2028 last summer.
Enough to raise the stakes: the Portuguese club is reportedly asking for ten million for its player, who is only worth five according to Transfermarkt. The Greeks from PAOK Salonika are also reportedly in the running.
